Since we cook six days a week, nothing is better then going out for dinner on a Saturday night! Vancouver has such lovely restaurants and so many different types of food. We are moving back to the centre of town soon, and I cannot wait to be right in the centre of good food again. If anyone is visiting Vancouver, Denman Street and Gastown has some great restaurants and Granville Market is definitely worth a visit. One of the main things (aside from my family/friends) I miss about Ireland is the food. I would literally trade Cian (and he would trade me too, trust me) for some good cheese. In Canada, cheese is crazy expensive for the quality and maybe its the Irish girl in me but I have yet to find a decent potato! This page will primarily focus on the yummy restaurants we try here and on our travels abroad, starting with lovely Waikiki, Hawaii!
Lulu’s Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii
First of all, in Hawaii you are given Mai-Tai’s everywhere you go! We got three on the plane alone, never had a chance.
My favourite restaurant in Honolulu! We waited for a table for about 30 minutes, but well worth it. Really fun and relaxed place with really lovely staff. If you are in Waikiki, well worth a visit here. It is very cheap for the quality,
I had steak fajitas (Ridiculously good!)
and Cian had surf’turf.
Both steaks were really well cooked to medium and Cian’s prawns were so fresh and juicy. Only problem is, we ordered a half portion of nachos for a starter, forgot I was in the USA where the portions are notoriously HUGE! Could only manage a few bites of my dinner, which upsets me as I still dream of it…!
Las Margaritas, Vancouver BC
This is our favourite restaurant in Vancouver. The best Mexican food around, do not go to Vancouver without a visit here. Reasonable, delicious and complimentary salsa and chips while you’re waiting. What more does a girl need. Always jammers on the weekends!
Roast Beef Chimichangas! (Battered burrito, ridiculous!)
Frozen Lime Margaritas with mini Coronas!
